Cultural Nature, 2010, stainless steel and automotive paint, 1350 x 1900 x 1600 mm
Cultural Nature expands my practice of making interactive geometric works that challenge the perception of the viewer. For this piece I worked with a new substance, chameleon/harlequin paint. Experiencing this work relies on the viewer’s movement around the structure which reveals the paint’s multi-coloured properties and the hidden variability of the work. The paint changes into a spectrum of six colours, from light green to light purple, depending on the light and the angle of viewing.
