Twisting The Void

 2009

5.5x5x3.5m each, stainless  steel,  NZI Building, Auckland New Zealand

Twisting The Void is the title of the installation consisting of two stainless steel sculptures that were commissioned for new Jazmax designed NZI building. Both sculptures are suspend in the air within the designated spaces of the new NZI building. These structures reflect and formally relate to the triangulated glass front of the architecture design.

These works add a new dimension to the building and its architecture but they also reflect and mirror the surroundings at the same time. The works are installed so that it appears that they are floating in the air allowing viewers to move under as well as around them. The sculptures look like two crystal clouds suspended inside the building.
