-archie, 2001, 30x22x9’ (915x671x275cm), found materials and scaffold construction
Changing Spaces, Wellington Arts festival 2001, Wellington, NZ
-archie was an Arc De Triomphe like structure made out of 80 cubic meters of found discarded items which were spray painted red. I engineered a site-specific scaffold construction into which I fixed the painted objects.
I was gathering and spray-painting the objects for 3 months and then they were transported by truck 500 miles to the installation site. After the duration of the three-week exhibition, the local public were invited to take objects away as practical furniture or sculptural pieces.
